Artificial intelligence is a type of machine intelligence that can imitate or improve human intelligence, like thinking and learning. It's been used in computers for a long time, but it's now being used in a lot of different things. For instance, some cameras can figure out what things are in an image using AI software. Experts think AI will be used in a lot more innovative ways in the future, like smart electric grids. 


    AI uses a bunch of different things from different fields, like probability, economics, and algorithms. It also draws on computer science, math, psychology, and language. Computer science gives you the tools to design and build algorithms, and math helps you model and solve optimization problems.


    It's been around since the 1800s when Alan Turing came up with the idea of an "imitation game" to test machine intelligence, but it only became possible in recent years because of the availability of more computing power and data for AI systems.

Subsequent years saw further progress in the performance of these networks due to advances in the technologies underlying them.

Generative models are capable of generating novel examples from a class, allowing for the acquisition of complex behaviours from relatively small amounts of data. For instance, it is possible to learn how to drive a car with only twenty minutes of driving experience.

Each layer has nodes (also called neurons) that have weighted inputs that calculate the output.

For machine learning, there are a bunch of different types of algorithms, like Decision Trees, Random Forests, Boosting, Support Vector Machines, K-Nearest Neighbors, and more. Neural networks, on the other hand, have CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs, and more. 


                  But to really understand AI, you need to break it down into two categories: narrow AI and general AI. Basically, narrow AI is all about getting a machine to do one thing really well - like recognizing an image or playing a game. Most researchers are focusing on narrow AI right now, but eventually, they want to see machine learning become general too.

Other machine learning models, like random forests, can be more sensitive to the biases in the data when training. For instance, if a dataset has lots of different variables, but only one is used to make a decision (like gender), the model will be more biased towards that one. This is different from random forests, which take all variables into account by default.


 As AI advances, there are other issues to consider, like data availability, computing power, and privacy. We need people's data to make models, but how can we get it, given how sensitive health data is? As AI becomes more popular, there's a growing need for processing power, so AI researchers are using supercomputers to create algorithms and models at a huge scale.
